Welcome to the rules and code of conduct

Welcome to the roleplaying game setting the War of the Twelve. Below you will find the basic rules of conduct, information on the setting, and guidelines for character creation. It is necessary to announce to the world that this is a work of fiction; in this world of fiction we deal with very adult themes.

The minimum age to play is 19 years old, due to the nature of the content. The content of a story arc can, but does need to include themes such as Violence, Addiction, Adult Relationships, Politics, and basically everything human resources would frown apon you bringing into the workplace.

Due to the aforementioned, it is important that we play in closed, non-public settings, and in-game recording with real world devices is prohibited as it may be taken out of context to the setting and themes being explored. We want everyone to have fun exploring the weird and the strange and to not have to be concerned about being mis-quoted.

It is important that players do not 'drop in' with people so that the administration can meet with them and ensure they understand the rules before engaging in play. Characters must also be made and vetted by the administration before their first session.

Drugs and alcohol are not tolerated at game. If you are found under the influence you will be asked to leave.

What is a Live Action Collaborative storytelling game?

It is a live acted, closed to the public, improv theater game that we take on the roles of fictional characters and experience their very interesting lives. We do this be establishing your character base, and by figuring out some of their history, and motivations. Once we have the heart, and reason to be of the character, the persona and attitudes that they have are next. Moving past that, we look into their likes, dislikes, and a few other tidbits to help round out the character as a person. Then we put numbers to digital paper and make what is called a character sheet. The character sheet lists your abilities and numerically tallies your strengths and weaknesses that you will need to roll against to help determine the success of challenges. In this system, you want to roll under your numbers to succeed.

Beyond the character creation process, how your character reacts to things is up to you; the world setting is a strange place, and while characters start as normal people they soon find themselves thrust into a world of magic and mythos, where mundane is a cover for the bizarre beneath. Make friends, join a cabal of wizards! Or don’t; what you do is up to you as your character. How you experience your characters adventure is up to you.

Rules and Acknowledgements

This is a game. You are not a Mage that can cast magical fireballs, or walk through walls by turning into a ghost spirit. The talks around the mystic, and religion are in-setting, not the real world, and while they may have parallels, they are NOT the same.

Leave your character grievances in character. Do not make snarky comments out of character to people because you are unhappy with how their character decisions may affect your character. If someone is having a genuinely hard time emotionally out of character please let the administration know. Again, this is a game. We are here to have fun.

No Touching. If you are wanting to touch another player in game, then you must out-of-character ask permission FIRST. Surprise ass-slapping and the like will have you removed.

No Weapons. Playing mages, sometimes props will be used to convey items that your character may have, suh as potions, candles etc. The moment that it becomes weaponized, a card will be given to you to use as a placeholder. Having a Gandalf staff is only cool if your not wielding it. Accidents happen and we want to minimize the chance for safety reasons.

No recording the game. Things can be easily taken out of context with the subject matter at hand. Recording things for promotional reasons requires the express permission of the administration, and the people to be recorded. Asking afterwards is NOT acceptable.

If you see someone violating these rules, please report it. As the group grows, so does the responsibility to keep everyone safe, and secure.

Anyone can at any time call Game Stop. This is used when things are risking getting out of hand, and people need to calm down for a few minutes, and collect themselves. This is not to be used to buy yourself more time to consider the best plotting move by your mage, but as a mechanism to allow people to take a breath if things get to intense. The Administration will call Game Resume once enough time has passed, and things have been rectified.

The Administration reserves the right to remove players, and refuse entry to players.
